Paid Training is provided to obtain a Commercial Drivers License Class B with Passenger Endorsement and School Bus Endorsement, as well as training to obtain an Arizona Department of Public Safety School Bus Certification.

SCHOOL BUS DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Possess a current driver's license for one year (class D minimum).
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Current 39 month MVR required at the time of interview.
  4. Ability to take and pass required drug screens.
  5. Ability to take and pass required DOT physical exam.
  6. Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, parents and co-workers.
  7. Ability to speak, read and write in the English language.
  8. Ability to work split work schedule. Longer schedules may be available.

SCHOOL BUS ASSISTANT QUALIFICATIONS

Training is provided to qualified candidates in the specified areas of preference.

  1. Current Arizona driver's license or state-issued I.D.
  2. High school diploma or equivalent.
  3. Ability to learn special methods and procedures for working with students with disabilities or special needs, to include handling equipment required in transporting these students. Some examples include: walkers, braces, wheelchairs, etc.
  4. Ability to physically lift and move students.
  5. Ability to read, write and speak in English.
  6. Experience working with children with special needs is preferred.
  7. Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with students, coworkers, administrative staff and parents. 
  8. Will be required to submit to drug screenings.
  9. Will be required to submit to an FBI background check.
  10. Ability to work split shifts.
