Empowering Families: Parent University Comes to GUHSD Campuses
The Glendale Union High School District (GUHSD) is excited to announce the return of Parent University, an engaging and informative program designed to empower families with the tools and knowledge to better support their teens. This initiative will be hosted at all our comprehensive high school campuses, offering a series of workshops led by professionals in their respective fields.
Parent University tackles some of the most pressing challenges facing teens today, providing families with actionable strategies and resources to navigate these complex topics together.
Workshop Topics Include:
- Social Media & Cybersecurity: Learn how to keep your teen safe online while fostering healthy digital habits.
- Bullying & Conflict Resolution: Understand the dynamics of bullying and gain tools to help your teen navigate and resolve conflicts.
- Understanding Depression & Anxiety: Gain insight into the signs of mental health struggles and how to provide meaningful support.
- Stress Management: Discover techniques to help teens manage stress effectively in today’s fast-paced world.
- Sex Trafficking Awareness: Learn the warning signs and prevention strategies to protect teens from this serious issue.
- Fentanyl & Vaping Awareness: Understand the dangers of these substances and how to have open conversations with your teen.
- Suicide Prevention & Awareness: Equip yourself with knowledge to recognize warning signs and support your teen through difficult times.
- Digital Threats: Explore ways to safeguard your family against digital risks.
