The Glendale Union High School District kicked off the 2024-2025 school year with its Back to School Celebration on Wednesday, July 31st. The annual event took place in Washington High School’s gymnasium.

The celebration was held in two separate sessions; the first was to honor the teachers of the district and the second was to thank the support staff for their ongoing commitment to GUHSD. The Governing Board President Pam Reicks and Superintendent Brian Capistran warmly welcomed each group with words of appreciation and encouragement for the new school year.

GUEA President Michael McGowan provided remarks as well as Moon Valley High School’s Facilities Supervisor, Carol Blockwitz, who shared her inspirational remarks to all those in attendance.
