AIR QUALITY
It's up to you!
|
 |
We are becoming increasingly aware of the traffic congestion
and air pollution problems facing the Valley of the Sun. The
Glendale Union High School District supports efforts to reduce
air pollution and improve our quality of life. We encourage
you to carpool, vanpool or ride the city bus. If you live
near enough to your work location perhaps you may want to
ride a bicycle or walk to work.
Our district, like many other companies in the city, is in
partnership with the Maricopa County Trip Reduction Program.
This program is dedicated to reducing air pollution by reducing
the number of vehicles on our streets. We offer the following
programs in an effort to support this program:
|
ENROLL IN OUR TRAVEL REDUCTION PROGRAM
When you agree to participate you will receive a gift
just to say "Thank you."
|
PARTICIPATION IN CONTESTS
For employees/students who are enrolled in the Travel
Reduction Program we offer random drawings at each site.
As a carpool participant, entry forms can be picked
up at the front desk at each school or in Public Affairs
at the district office.
|
EMERGENCY TRANSPORTATION
If you are a carpool participant and need emergency
transportation, arrangements can be made with your on-site
representative.
|
|
FOUR-DAY WORK WEEKS DURING SUMMER MONTHS
We offer this schedule to all 12-month employees at
the school sites and the district office.
|
SHOWERS FOR THOSE WHO WALK or BIKE TO WORK
Selected sites can provide showers for those clean air
participants who walk or ride a bicycle to work or school.
Locker room privileges will also be provided.
|
CARPOOL PARKING SPACES
Parking is provided in convenient locations to all carpool
participants (employees and students). Parking stickers
and/or decals can be obtained when you sign up.
